He is currently a shooting guard/small forward for the Orlando Magic.
Born in Daytona Beach, Florida, Carter was a
McDonald's All-American basketball player in 1995, out of Mainland High School in Daytona Beach. After high school, he spent three seasons playing basketball at the University of North Carolina, before entering the 1998 NBA Draft. He won the 2000 NBA Slam Dunk Contest, in which he competed alongside his third cousin and then-teammate, Tracy McGrady. He became the third player to lead the NBA All-Star Game fan voting three or more times, after Julius Erving and Michael Jordan. and helped lead the Toronto Raptors to two playoff appearances. In 2004, he was traded to the New Jersey Nets. In 2009, Carter, along with Ryan Anderson, was traded to the Orlando Magic. Awards and achievements
