Magic Rumors Running Wild

I97953866-430x296 got a call last night from a friend who personally guaranteed me that we are picking up Chris Paul in the free agency. I had a strong feeling that this was just a rumor and can confirm today that it was. The chances of us getting Chris Paul are slim to none, as the owner of the Hornets already said they aren't look to deal Paul. If Otis could pull that off he would not be a human being but instead a God.

The Magic worked out 6 potential draft prospects last Monday. All of the six players are at least 6 foot 4.

Player, Pos.

The Buzz

Jordan Crawford, G

Explosive leaper improving as a shooter, dunked over LeBron James last summer

Devin Ebanks, F

Has a wiry 6-foot-9 frame, likes to attack the hoop, not a 3-point threat

Darington Hobson, G/F

Can play 3 positions, including the point, made 36 percent of 3s as sophomore

Quincy Pondexter, G/F

A 6-foot-6 tweener who has improved his outside shot and scoring as a senior

Andy Rautins, G

Syracuse product made almost 41 percent of 3s last season as a senior

Greivis Vasquez, G

Is a 6-foot-6 point guard, tough competitor who needs to improve his quickness

With point guards Jason Williams and Anthony Johnson and wings Matt Barnes and J.J. Redick expected to become free agents on July 1, the Magic have some obvious needs.

I am still hoping we can pick up an added big man for the team. Someone like Bosh or Boozer would give us the size we need to compete for a championship. There is no way in hell we are getting Lebron or Wade so you can mark those two off right now.

It is hard to predict what is going to happen with our lineup next year because there are so many free agents in the market this year. It’s going to be an interesting summer to say the least.

quote from chris
"My first choice is to be in New Orleans,'' Paul said in a telephone interview from London. "I just want to make sure we're committed to winning. If we're not committed to winning and trying to get better so we can contend with the Lakers, the Celtics and all these other top teams, then I'm open to being traded.''

LOL Nader. He is not getting traded to the Orlando Magic for sure. Another team is possible but still highly unlikely because the Hornets organization would not want to loose Paul because of his high value.
